Anantara New York Palace Hotel 5 * is housed in the palace of the same name, an elegant building dating from the 19th century. It is an exclusive hotel belonging to the collection of luxury hotels of the Anantara chain and is located on the elegant Erzsébet Körút boulevard, close to the State Opera, theaters, restaurants and bars on the banks of the Danube.
The heart of the hotel is the New York Café, decorated with beautiful frescoes and gilded stucco columns. New York Cafe has been named the most beautiful cafe in the world by ucityguids.com, being extremely luxurious and elegant. The local exclusive offers live piano recitals and is complemented by the Salon Fine Dining Restaurant, awarded in 2013 by Gault Millau gastronomic guide, who reinvents traditional Hungarian cuisine.
Anantara New York Palace Hotel and New York Cafe are definitely between my favorites when it comes to the Hungarian capital. Every time I am in Budapest, I am also in this extraordinary place.
The building was built in 1849 by the New York Insurance Company, serving as its headquarters, on Erzsebet Korut Street, no. 9-11 in Budapest. On the ground floor, the famous New York Café served as a meeting place for poets and writers, being a bohemian but exclusive cafe also called the writers' cafe.
During the communist period, the building was nationalized, and later, in 2001, it was purchased by the Italian hotel chain, Boscolo Hotels. In 2006, after undergoing extensive renovation processes, it was reopened, with a number of 107 luxury rooms and a cafe on the ground floor.
However, the palace recently entered the patrimony of Anantara Hotels, one of the most exclusive hotel chains in the world, having in its portfolio exclusive accommodation units in over 20 countries.
At New York Cafe Budapest, in an extraordinary atmosphere, you can serve not only coffee products, prepared from Hungarian cuisine but also from the international one.
The prices are not high considering this exclusive place and I leave here some examples: Cappuccino / Latte Macchiato - 7.5 euro, Lemonade - 7 euro, Hot chocolate - 8.5 euro, Burger - 18 euro, Salad - 16.5 euro, Soup - 9 euro, Dessert - 9 euro.
The most beautiful cafe in the world, New York Cafe is open from Monday to Sunday from 8 am to 2 pm.
